Job Description
Ensure that qualifying pregnant women are identified and enrolled in prenatal care program, as well as other essential social services, early in their pregnancy. Performs nonstress test (NST) to measure fetal heart rate, fetal movement, and uterine activity to make sure there's no fetal distress.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Ensures pregnant women are obtaining prenatal care, and consistently making prenatal appointments.
Performs Non-Stress Test per Doctor’s Orders, monitoring fetal well being
Reinforces instructions from various service providers.
Provides in-depth prenatal education throughout pregancy.
Assists in obtaining pre-birth selection forms.
Oversees and enroll women in Prenatal Care Coordination Program (PNCC).
Assess each woman’s individual needs as well as their respective families.
Obtains initial history and education for patients
Performs free pregnancy test.
Assists in maintaining statistics for clinic (prenatal patients).
Ensures prenatal coordination appointments are available that fit each client’s schedule.
Assists with referrals to WIC, Healthy Families, Hoosier Healthwise enrollments, etc.
Assists at developing educational classes and programs for at risk pregnant women enrolled in the PNCC program.
Attends staff meeting, department training/meetings, etc.
Registered nurse with valid licensure in the State of Indiana.
Experienced Labor & Delivery Nurse
Certification through successful completion of state administered test through the Indiana State Department of Maternal and Child Health Services.
Bi-lingual in Spanish, English preferred.
Shows respect and sensitivity for cultural differences, promotes a harassment-free work environment, and is capable of relating to people of diverse age, ethnic, racial, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Completes all required Continuing Education in a timely manner
Self-starter
Strong demonstrated organizational skills, with attention to detail.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain relationships with clinical staff, patients, management, etc.
Ability to navigate Nextgen EHR System .
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively work as a team member.
Qualifications
