Posting SummaryRutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow for the Public Health Research Institute within the New Jersey Medical School.
Postdoctoral Fellow position is immediately available for PhD to conduct research in the area of host-pathogen interactions using clinical samples and animal models in Dr. Chang’s laboratory. Prior knowledge of flow cytometry is essential. Collects, records and analysis data, prepare reports for peer-reviewed scientific publications and conference presentations, and contributes to the writing of grants. Reports all research related activities to the PI and trains technicians/fellows in relevant techniques as directed by PI.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Will examine the role of hormone, innate immunity, and microbiome in viral transmission and pathogenesis in humans and mouse models.
- Will carry out assignments in the laboratory and help manage the laboratory. He/She will compile and present statistical data with appropriate conclusions and recommendations in a weekly group meeting. The candidate will assist in the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications for the funding of research activities.

Minimum Education and Experience
- PhD in the field of infectious diseases, immunology, molecular cellular biology.
- The applicant should have experience in molecular biology, cell biology, innate immunity and host-pathogen interaction.
- Should be familiar with handling infectious agents, ELISA, multi-color FACS analysis, molecular cloning, real-time PCR analysis, and immunofluorescent microscopy.
- Experience in processing primary cells from blood and tissue as well as handing mice is essential.
