Job Description
Our company has a position open in the Polymer Group. The group specializes in non-routine problem solving that encompasses:
- Failure analysis in molded parts, delamination of films, adhesives and coating, processing/curing issues, chemical compatibility, blisters and surface defects.
- Examples of polymeric materials we evaluate includes raw materials in polymer formulations, adhesives, coatings, molded, extruded and cast components.
The skills and experience we look for in a Polymer Scientist Candidate include instrumental experience and data interpretation with:
- chromatography (GPC, GC-MS, pyrolysis GC-MS, HPLC/LC-MS),
- spectroscopy (UV-Vis, FTIR, Raman, NMR),
- thermal analysis (DSC, TGA)
- physical properties (DMA, TMA)
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
B.Sc./M.Sc./Ph.D. in Chemistry with an emphasis in Polymer Chemistry is preferred
EXPERIENCE
- 2 to 5 years of industrial or analytical testing lab experience is preferred
- Polymer characterization techniques are required
- Failure analysis is preferred but is not required
- Experience in a GMP environment is a plus
- A knowledge of generalized polymer synthesis techniques is a plus
