Job Description:

Primary duties of _ SCM Policy Analyst ___ include the following:


  • Be CEA’s SME on Policy related to Solar and Storage (national level, state/province level)
  • Know tariff policies and maintain client-facing presentations for tariff programs
    • USA (e.g., AD/CVD, Section 201, Section 301, Executive Orders, ITC rulings, Investment Tax Credit, Customs regulations such as ban on imports having Forced Labor; recycling and disposal)
    • India
    • Europe
    • As Needed
    • Review US historical solar AD/CVD history and create a workshop Chapter in history and process, including currently applicable rates
  • Real-time scouring of policy related to solar and storage (Tariffs, incentives, recycling, etc.)
    • Daily review of ITC, DOE, Newsletters, Legal Updates
      • Maintain a “ready to present” list of resources and new updates
    • Focus on US and policy issues that impact supply, price or other elements of a solar project
      • Include FERC policies
      • Include carbon analysis and policies
    • Assess materiality of the information for CEA clients
    • Develop weekly and quarterly policy updates that will be distributed to CEA clients and prospects
      • Description, analysis, impact, recommendations
      • Pull content for Internal CEA meetings
    • Present policy updates on client calls and prospect calls
    • Keep CEA informed of policy issues
    • Ring the alarm as needed
    • Expand to Europe and then India and then other regions
    • Know China policy insofar as it affects US clients
      • E.g., how China policy impacts Supply, Price, Product, Performance
    • Attend webinars that deal with Policy updates
    • Attend SEIA policy calls and participate in SEIA working groups as appropriate
  • Scenario brainstorming / planning for changes in policy (e.g., scenario planning under different outcomes of an election)
  • Repeat the above w.r.t. Market moves by stakeholders
    • Track industry alliances that may impact trade policy
    • Track Industry initiatives at advocacy (e.g., when manufacturers converge to file trade complaints)
  • Draft CEA’s Comments on emerging policy when appropriate and, after approval from CEA, submit comments
  • Nurture Key Client Contacts
    • Maintain list of key policy stakeholders (contacts) at Client companies for Clietns who have a long term engagement with CEA
    • Regularly reach out to nurture the relationship
  • Prepare and maintain summary of State/Federal benefits to companies that manufacture in the USA (company-by-company)
  • Business Development Support
    • Serve as one of CEA’s SMEs on calls with SCM prospects
    • Support discovery and Proposal process by understanding Prospect’s needs w.r.t. policy and creating a scope to address the needs
      • Scope development includes estimation of CEA resources to accomplish the task
    • Support CEA’s social media campaigns
      • Your LI profile
      • Share CEA posts
    • Regular and frequent internal cross-contamination with the BI team
    • Product Management
      • Become the Product Manager for Policy
        • Use CEA’s stage-gate process from ideation to sunset
      • Support Sales at Trade Shows and Events
        • Attend
        • Be a developer and presenter of thought leadership content
      • Reporting and Administration
        • Record timesheet
        • Record and submit expenses
        • Weekly reports on progress, barriers, look-ahead
        • Participate in Quarterly Feedback Sessions and CEA Team meetings
        • Annual FCPA training
        • Semi-annual Team NPS

Qualifications/Requirements:


You will be CEA’s policy expert – tracking policies, policy changes worldwide that affect solar and storage. You will be a regular contributor of content for CEA’s clients and prospects. At least 70 % of your time will be allocated towards serving Clients.
