CARF certification for general inpatient, amputation specialty, brain injury specialty, spinal cord injury specialty, and stroke specialty programs. At Summa Rehab, we have a very focused, motivated therapy team with 6 board certified neuro specialists on staff and our on-site Outpatient Neuro therapy program initiated in 2020!

Summa Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking experienced Full Time PM&R Physician to join our team!

The PM&R Physician is responsible for providing medical services to the patients in the hospital, and will provide professional and administrative services for the hospital. Medical services include, but are not limited to, treatment of a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. Responsible for collaborating with the management team in organizing and directing the provision of physical medicine and rehabilitation services in the inpatient unit for the hospital in agreement with all applicable federal, state and local laws and standards, rules and regulations. The PM&R Physician works closely with the seasoned medical director and assists with administrative duties in medical director absence (scheduled time off).
Minimum Qualifications:
  • MD/DO Degree from a School of Medicine required.
  • Current, valid, and active license in the state of employment required.
  • Must be board certified or board eligible as a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician as required by the Hospital’s Medical Staff Bylaws, and must maintain training as required.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications from a Vibra-approved vendor required.
  • Current DEA License required.

Additional Qualifications/Skills:

  • One (1) year of experience in PM&R or a similar capacity is preferred.
  • Ability to project a professional image.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
  • Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
