POSITION PURPOSE

This position plays a key role in leading as the point of contact for all training activities for Precision Aerospace Products company employees, as well as contracted customer groups. This position will participate in the development, administration, coordination, implementation and monitoring of training efforts. Additionally, the Training Coordinator delivers hands-on and classroom training and support to internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include some or all of the following and are not intended to be all-inclusive.   • Reports directly to the Project Manager of PPI Technical Services on status of training, project performance, and milestone completion.
  • Responsible for direct training coordination, lesson planning, and physical training of OCONUS customers.
  • Communicates effectively with students to identify needs and evaluate capabilities via personalized needs assessments.
  • Tailors and shapes training plan to support customer mission requirements.
  • Reviews mission essential TMDE and those items impact on backshop workload.
  • Ensures all calibration and certification of TMDE is to technical data specifications, while also ensuring traceability to USAF standards.
  • Directly responsible for ensuring equipment maintenance is conducted using theories of operation, block diagrams, schematics, and/or software diagnostics.
  • Oversees the creation of an inventory of calibrated equipment, tracks warranties, and ensures technical compliance using most current technical manuals.
  • Oversees hazardous material/waste to ensuring proper handling, labeling, and disposal.
  • Evaluates procedures for storage, inventory, and inspection of calibrated equipment as it is received.
  • Develops and continually evaluates shop workload planning, budget, and support agreements to ensure successful training completion.
  • Identifies weaknesses and problem areas in training plans, evaluation and training activities and schedules.
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
  • Follow work rules and standard safety regulations at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

TYPICAL PROBLEM SOLVING

Applying common sense understanding to carry out detailed and complicated written or oral instructions. Manages problems involving many variables in sometimes difficult and stressful situations. Examples include: resolving staff conflicts, dealing with sometimes irate and impatient users, and managing many simultaneous high priority projects and user requests.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, or Aeronautics. 10-12 years practical work experience in lieu of a degree acceptable.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Must be able to provide evidence of the completion the USAF Specialty Codes for basic PMEL course (AFSC 2P031), and preferably AFSC 2P051, AFSC 2P071, and AFSC 2P091.
  • 5+ years management, strong communication, and interpersonal skills in instruction and training.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with regard to project timeline and financial constraints.
  • 5-10 years hands-on aviation PMEL technical experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of USAF PMEL principles and systematic workflow.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events; Attention to detail, ability to balance multiple work assignments; organized work habits; ability to work independently; Ability to analyze situations, research problems and answers, and present solutions to internal and external customers; ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills; professional telephone manner required. High proficiency with major software programs: e.g. MS Office Suite.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • A&P Mechanic a plus
