Job Description
Plant Quality Tech job description:

Key job duties/responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Quality System Maintenance at the plant level including on site Management Representative.
  • Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.
  • Assist Corporate Quality in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system.
  • Point person at the plant level for customer communication regarding actions taken for corrective actions.
  • Develop training to build quality awareness at the plant level.
  • Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with approved data. Including testing samples to help define standards and acceptability.
  • Support daily operations to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
  • Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions.
  • Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
  • Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, Job Instructions, etc.
  • Responsible for planning, organizing and managing the overall activities of receiving / outgoing quality functions.
  • Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actions.
  • Help manage suppliers’ performance and conduct audits.
  • Own and drive System improvements and system discipline throughout the organization.

REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERENCES:

  • 4 year Technical Degree required
  • HANDS ON Quality Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Experience in managing ISO 9001 or TS16949 systems
  • Hands on experience with creating Automotive quality documentation (PPAP, CPlans, etc)
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Sharepoint
  • Self-Motivated to identify and address issues
  • Excellent Communication and Documentation Skills
