Job Summary:
The Plant Operator will report to the Production Manager and is responsible for various operating tasks associated with the operation of Li-Cycle’s lithium battery recycling plant. Applicant should be capable of completing a variety of manual tasks and have experience working within manufacturing or processing environments.
We are seeking a talented, motivated, and top performer to be a part of a smart and energetic team, as Li-Cycle commercializes its technology.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Handling of lithium-ion batteries and associated products
- Perform a variety of manual tasks including, loading batteries into plant
- Minor maintenance activities, as required
- Cleaning of plant, ensuring the plant is kept is clean, safe working order
- Inspect and verify condition and weight of incoming/ outgoing materials
- Adhere to all workplace safety policies, regulations and compliance legislation
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- 2 years of experience working in similar manufacturing/ processing environment
- Experience with routine maintenance operations
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Able to work well under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Computer literate
- Professional appearance and manners
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
Working Conditions:
- 24/7 availability shift rotation may be required
- Wear required PPE for full duration of work-shift: nitrile gloves, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hard hat or bump cap, and coveralls; respirator and face shield as needed
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Overtime as required
- Exposure to shop-floor and loading hazards
- May be exposed to construction site
