Responsible for managing and ensuring the success of the Department's functions and related responsibilities are carried out for the various transit federal grant programs.Develop/administer said programs for the Dept. Provide technical expertise/management assistance to ensure ADOT fulfills its federal responsibilities (23 CFR Chapter VI) and state responsibilities (A.R.S. Title 28) of these programs. Collect and analyze statistical data, conduct site reviews and ensure agency compliance with federal safety requirements. Interpret federal and state regulations and ensure appropriate cooperation, coordination and communication with internal/external transportation partners, stakeholders and customers.
Job Duties:Grant writing and administration of all Federal Transit Administration grants for the assigned program.
Administration and oversight of Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grant funds awarded to a number of transit systems (grantees) throughout the state.
Ensures federal regulatory compliance: provides technical assistance and training in a variety of areas including procurement, financial management.
Facilitate program development, safety and civil rights compliance; data collection/analysis and reporting, project management, policy development, implementation and system planning.

Bachelor's degree in public administration, planning, economic, social sciences and/or related field. On the job experience of three to five years in public transit or transportation field. Experience applying for and managing transit grant applications, administration of transit services and implementation of transit services.
Pre-Employment Requirements:This position requires possession of a valid Arizona Class D Driver License. Candidates for this position must complete page 7 and sign the Driver Form on page 8 of the State of Arizona Application for Employment at the time of interview, which will allow ADOT to obtain the candidate's motor vehicle record (MVR). The most recent 39-month period shown on the MVR will be reviewed in accordance with A.A.C. R2-10-207.11 (H) and (I). The review must show an acceptable driving record prior to any offer of employment being made by ADOT. Employment is contingent upon an acceptable MVR.
