Job Purpose/Summary:

This position will perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on specified pipeline assets and assist in other areas of pipeline operations depending upon experience level.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in routine and non-routine maintenance, upkeep, and cleaning of station, pipeline, and terminal facilities.
  • Clean and maintain pipeline right-of-ways.
  • Assist in pipeline repairs including ILI verification digs, pipeline change outs, re-coats, etc.
  • Assists with DOT required inspections.
  • Work to ensure Plains safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Assist in 24/7 Emergency Response.
  • Assist in pipeline construction and maintenance.
  • Act as relief for Station Operators as requested.
  • Locate and mark pipelines with locator and respond to “one call” system.
  • Assists with any other pipeline related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years petroleum industry experience is preferred.
  • Ability to speak read and write English.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of basic hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret pipeline maps and drawings.
  • Basic computer skills: Excel, Microsoft Office, Word, etc .
  • Ability to successfully complete company Haz-Mat training, required DOT operator qualifications to perform pipeline mechanical operations and mandatory safety training.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work in moderate to heavy physically demanding working conditions, including working outdoors in an open environment with extremes of heat and cold.
  • Must have an outstanding safety record.
  • Ability to work in team environment.
