Pipe Layer/Laborer

Job Description

Utility contractor urgently seeking Pipe Layers/ Laborers with experience in the installation of water, sewer, and storm drain.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Grading trench for the installation of water, sewer, or storm drain pipes as well as connecting/installing pipes.

Installing valves, bends, fire hydrants, manholes, etc.

Communicating with operator/foreman.

Using power and hand tools.

Setting up and operating a pipe laser accurately.

Working inside trench box if necessary.

Locating existing utilities.

Manual labor including but not limited to: shoveling, sawing, hammering, bolting together, and mixing cement.

Operating equipment such as trench roller, jumping jack, compactor, skid steer, front end loader, and excavator.

Ability to read and understand plans is a plus.

Ability to operate heavy equipment is a plus.

Required:

Minimum of 2 years experience laying water, sewer, and storm drain.

Valid drivers license.

Adequate transportation to shop or jobsite.

Ability to travel occasionally. (Home on weekends)

Ability to maneuver up and down ladders, manhole, equipment.

Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Education/Training:

Competent Person in Trench Safety is a plus, but not required.

Pay: $14.00 - $22.00 per hour
