C-130J Instructor Pilot, the Air Force recognized expert in C-130J flight training. Provide instrument/qualification, and mission training in both classroom and aircrew training devices (ATD) for the C-130J aircraft to initial and requalification students. Conduct currency and refresher training to qualified C-130J crewmembers. Be thoroughly proficient in C-130J aircraft systems, normal operating procedures, emergency procedures, local area procedures, safety procedures, and courseware. Conduct classroom presentations utilizing a published schedule, current courseware, and Air Force instructions and guidance. Platform ground training utilizing lecture, video, and computer aided classroom technology. Be fully versed in all technical elements of running and instructing simulator profiles (brief, mission management from an instructor operating station (IOS), and debrief) for C-130J training.
The instructor will be proficient in evaluating, diagnosing, and critiquing student performance; identifying learning difficulties, recognizing objectives not accomplished, and prescribing as well as conducting remedial instruction. Maintain an accurate and complete record of student training conducted utilizing an electronic grade book to generate training reports on each student.

In addition, the instructor will conduct training to other company personnel on C-130J operations, courseware and instructor operating station IOS operations as required. The Instructor will be the subject matter expert, who develops curriculum, new classroom/device material, objectives and syllabi for new courses, edits and maintains existing classroom/device courseware material, objectives and syllabi. Additional duties and related responsibilities will be assigned as required.

Student training includes:
- Flight management system data entry and usage for enroute operations, tactical operations to include airdrops and takeoff and landing data.
- Automation management enroute and in the terminal area.
- Use of the heads up display (HUD) as the primary flight reference.
- Use and manipulation of the heads down displays. To include proficiency with the primary flight display, airborne radar, digital map, and Coordinated Aircraft Positioning System.
- Automated mission planning using Portable Flight Planning System (PFPS) and Tanker, Airlift, Special Mission-Aircraft/Weapons/Electronic Countermeasures (TASM-A/W/E) software.
- Instructing crew resource management for a two pilot, three person crew.
- Be a knowledgeable instructor in all aspects of mission training to include; time navigation, night vision goggles, defensive systems, and visual threat recognition and avoidance training.

Basic Qualifications:
- Four (4) year Bachelor’s degree in closely related discipline.
- Qualified as a C 130 tactical flight instructor within the past 5 years of the date of assignment to the C 130J MATS.
- Minimum of 200 flying hours in the C 130J aircraft or C 130J flight simulator with at least 50% occurring in the aircraft.
- Must be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance
- Basic computer skills.
