Job Description

Responsible for managing the referral efforts for assigned Piedmont Healthcare entities and service lines
to achieve service line and hospital referral goals and volume objectives. They will create and lead the
execution of a referral business plan that will achieve referral goals of identified services lines and
entities. They will also work with marketing to ensure consistent business-to-business volume driving
approach. The Senior Consultant Physician Outreach Services impacts and influences key, internal
stakeholders to ensure local market and competitive dynamics are understood and incorporated into
outreach plans. In addition, The Senior Consultant Physician Outreach Services represents PHC service
lines in promotional programs and activities in concert with the Piedmont Healthcare Public
Relations/Marketing Department.



Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field
required.


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Three (3) years of experience in sales required.


MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:

None.


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in healthcare sales preferred.
Must be familiar with computer systems, and software programs such as Word, Excel, and Power Point.
A working knowledge of SalesForce CRM is desired.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, highly professional in appearance and demeanor.
Must have strong organizational and effective interpersonal and communication skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for increased referrals and territory management.
2. Develop strategic relationships with key leaders throughout Piedmont entities and services lines in
order to understand strategic objectives and business goals of entities and services. Regularly
communicate and set expectations regarding results and market analysis.
3. Build relationships with physicians, clinical staff and scheduling coordinators in order to facilitate
referrals into Piedmont.
4. Assesses current market and future trends, suggests alternative strategies for discussion with
leadership to capitalize on market/account opportunity.
5. Works with the strategy and finance functions on identified business development opportunities
throughout assigned Piedmont service area.
6. Develop and execute comprehensive B2B sales plans and programs, both short and long range, to
support the objectives of the organization.
7. Serves as hospital representative at office managers’ meeting, physician mixers and special events.
8. In order to increase referral efficiency, provides customer service assistance and complaint resolution
by working with appropriate internal department and ensuring follow through and issue resolution.
Completes weekly call logs and reports results of outreach activities and insights to key stakeholders.

9. Responsible for assisting with the onboarding process for new physicians and working to maximize
the relationships and referrals to Piedmont Healthcare medical staff.
10. Responsible for analyzing utilization data for employed physicians to identify system leakage and will
develop plans to increase utilization.
