Job Description
ResponsibilitiesThe Physician Affairs Coordinator coordinates all activities of the medical staff. He/She plans and executes the optimal scheduling of medical staff inclusive of physician and advance practice providers. The Coordinator is responsible for, but not necessarily limited to: the coordinator and oversight of credentialing and re-credentialing, supports and provides updates to the Medical Executive Committee, assists with Joint Commission survey preparation for the medical staff/leadership function, including medical staff education regarding accreditation standards, works closely with CEO/Medical Director/Senior Management team with regard to medical staff and advanced practitioner issues, provides administrative and human resources support for the Medical Director(s) and medical staff, serves as a liaison to the University Residency Program(s), and other medical schools in the greater Philadelphia area, and partners with facility based Human Resources and the UHS Physician Services Recruitment Team to assist with the local and/or national placement of facility physicians and advance practice providers.Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Business or Healthcare related field required; Masters Degree Preferred
  • Medical Staff Coordinator Certification (CMSC) and/or Provider Credentialing Specialist Certification (CPCS) preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of Healthcare experience required
  • Minimum 3 years of previous experience in a Medical Staff Services Administrative position required or its equivalent
  • Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior.
