Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Since 1995, South Florida Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine has been dedicated to providing comprehensive orthopaedic and musculoskeletal care for patients along southeast Florida’s Treasure Coast. As our practice continues to grow, we are seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join the outstanding Physical Therapy team in our Tradition office.

Supporting patient-focused care, the PTA will assist Physical Therapists with direct patient care, following established protocol to assist patients following injury or surgery to regain range of movement. You will follow plans created by PTs that involve stretching, strength training and physical manipulation.

As a member of the South Florida Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Physical Therapy team you will join a superior team of professionals who are patient-focused, continually demonstrating excellent service and committed to an exceptional patient experience.

This is a full-time position, Monday thru Friday 9:30 am to 6:30 pm, in our Tradition office.

Background/Experience:

  • Current Florida PTA license.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a PTA in a clinic setting.
  • Must possess outstanding communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally with patients, family and clinical team.
  • Able to comply with all OSHA, HIPAA, BBP and other protocol.
  • Must be organized, able to multi-task in a high patient volume environment.
  • EMR/PM experience strongly preferred. Uses EMR functions to ensure consistent and accurate documentation.

Physical Demands:

  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Lifting, pulling, and stooping when assisting patients up to 300 lbs.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
