Position Summary:Responsibilities include drawing patient blood samples, processing blood/body fluid specimens entering the lab and distributing appropriate specimens for testing to laboratory in a timely manner for the Laboratory Department. Prepare appropriate specimens for reference lab couriers, maintaining adequate stock levels on drawing carts/trays/drawing room, as well as a clean working environment in the processing and drawing areas, and properly utilize the lab computer system (Meditech) and other lab equipment. Also shares the job of working as secretary in the front of lab. Other responsibilities include admitting, filing, greeting patients and answering phones. These tasks must be performed with a high degree of confidentiality and demonstrate effective customer service. Must perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Position Requirements:

Licensure/ Certification/Registration:

  • Valid Phlebotomy Certificate
  • LA Fire Card within 60 days of hire
Education:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:
  • Preferably one year of experience.
Special Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
