SCHEDULE: PRN/Per Diem
Hourly Wage Estimate: $18.02 - $23.18/Hour

This is a PRN/Per Diem position, with an average of 1-2 shifts per week. The schedule will be mixed day and evening shifts, 8-10 hours per shift. Will include weekends and holidays.

Here is some of what you can expect from being a Pharmacy Technician with us:

  • You will Identify critical issues, prioritize workload and communicate to appropriate personnel any issues in a timely manner
  • You will complete all education requirements and/or other activities needed to maintain competency
  • You will interact in person and by phone with hospital personnel politely and appropriately
  • You will accurately maintain required documentation logs for medications, including controlled substances
  • You will comply with facility policy and procedures and regulatory requirements. Performing all pharmacy operations under the supervision of a pharmacist
  • You will be responsible for maintaining medication storage and security as per regulatory requirements throughout the organization
  • You will perform quality control and performance improvement functions as assigned
  • You will accurately performs and documents monthly medication storage area inspections as assigned
  • You will perform basic billing functions and patient charges in a timely manner as assigned
  • You will accurately perform required calculations
  • You will accurately and safely compound and label non-sterile medications
  • You will Utilize aseptic techniques in the accurate preparation of sterile compounded medications
  • You will be compliant with all USP <797> and USP <800> shift/daily/monthly requirements (i.e. working with laminar airflow cabinets and biological safety cabinets, wearing personal protective equipment, etc.)
  • You will always obtains a final check from the pharmacist before releasing any prepared parenteral compounds, before packaging any medication, or dispensing any medication
  • You will accurately fill orders in the pharmacy. You will accurately transport medications and other pharmacy supplies in a timely manner to appropriate areas
  • You will process medication returns and restocking to the pharmacy
  • You will provides basic technical support for automated dispensing machines and other pharmacy computer systems
  • You will performs daily Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADC) routines as assigned (i.e. restocks, outdates, discrepancy resolution, loading and unloading, etc.). You will replenish emergency cart trays and floor stock accurately and as needed
  • You will appropriately and timely notify the pharmacy inventory manager of products that need to be reordered
  • You will comply with ongoing processes to monitor outdates as per policy and procedures
  • You will perform receiving and check in of medication/supply orders as defined in policy and notifies the pharmacy inventory manager of any shortages, overages or product damage.
  • You will manage drug supplies in a cost effective manner and identifies opportunities to minimize waste.

Qualifications you will need for this role:

  • Upon hire: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT or national equivalent) with Colorado Board of Pharmacy (DORA) issued Pharmacy Technician certificate, or Colorado Board of Pharmacy (DORA) issued Provisional Pharmacy Technician Certificate. If initially hired with a Colorado Board of Pharmacy (DORA) issued Provisional Pharmacy Technician Certificate, must achieve Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT or national equivalent) within 12 months of hire date

  • High school diploma required. Completion of a pharmacy technician education program preferred

  • Previous Pharmacy Technician experience preferred
