Job Description
Eagle Global Scientific (EGS), LLC is a subsidiary of Bristol Bay Native Corporation is a provider of direct healthcare and support services to government agencies, including Military Treatment Facilities (MTF) both state side and overseas. EGS is currently searching for a Pharmacy Technician at Madigan Army Medical Center. Pharmacy Technician shall perform essentially the same duties as those required of any Active Duty Military or Government Civil Service Pharmacy Technician of similar experience and in similar duty assignments. The contract Pharmacy technician shall provide services including, but not limited to the following: Receive and reviews prescriptions using knowledge of pharmaceuticals handled by the pharmacy. Determines medication, dosage form, strength/dosage, and quantity to be dispensed in accordance with accepted practice and pharmacy SOP. Enters prescriptions into outpatient computer system, reviewing profile for allergies, drug/drug or drug/food interactions, and duplicate orders. Obtains the pharmaceutical, prepares package labels, and sets up for pharmacist review. Coordinates with prescriber or other hospital staff on any pertinent issues or questions concerning the medication or patient. Works independently on unit dose carts, sterile products, stockage for point-of-use cabinets, and bulk drug orders for medication use areas following the rules, policies, and procedures as an intermediate step of the medication use process. Receive, review, prepare, and fill physician orders for intravenous solutions, other parenteral medication and nutrition products, unit dose orders, prescriptions, and bulk drug orders. Insures strict adherence to sterile procedures and correct operation and maintenance of equipment. Advises pharmacist of any significant issues or problems connected with the specific medication. Perform the full range of compounding for the pharmacy to include intravenous and chemotherapy preparations in support of hematology and oncology services. Prepare bulk compounds, as needed, for which master formula cards or specific instructions from a pharmacist are available. Establish and maintain files for a variety of manual and automated records concerning pharmacy operations. These include prescription and patient records, stock and inventory records, as well as miscellaneous administrative files. Independently monitor pharmaceutical inventory. Receive incoming stock, checks for discrepancies, and rotates stock for the full range of medication and supplies, including controlled substances. Assist in conducting medication storage area inspections to assure adequate pharmaceutical supplies, using knowledge of pharmaceuticals in order to perform duties in pharmacy functional areas; and knowledge of pharmaceutical nomenclature (including generic, chemical, and proprietary names of drug) and dosage forms. Assist in conducting medication storage area inspections/liaison visits. Inform supervisor about stock level changes as determined by unusual increases or decreases in demand and seasonal requirements. The Pharmacy Technician shall provide non-personal services in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) for the Department of Pharmacy at Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC), Tacoma, WA.

Experience:
**Outpatient Experience Preferred** Knowledge of the characteristics of drugs, toxicity, possible adverse reactions, and drug-drug interactions; knowledge of pharmaceutical nomenclature (including generic, chemical, and proprietary names of drug) and dosage forms; and knowledge and skill in order to perform computer data entry with at least 2 years of experience.

Qualifications:
Graduate of a structured pharmacy technician training program for which a certificate or diploma has been awarded.

Physical Demands:
Health and immunization requirements. All contract personnel performing services under this contract shall comply with the health and immunization requirements as stated in the TAMC Health Requirements clause. Hours of scheduled work may include weekdays or weekends and evening and nighttime shifts. Assigned work schedule may not necessarily be consistent and may rotate among days of the week and various work shifts

Special Requirements, Certifications and Licensures:
Certification, registration, and/or authorizing documents must be verified. National Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred.
