Job Title: Pharmacy Inventory Certified Technician FLSA: Non-Exempt
Department: Pharmacy Fulfillment Center Revision Date: 11/2016
General Function:
Works in a fast-paced production environment known as an automated central fill pharmacy. Assists with overseeing replenishment and distribution of prescription medications.
Reporting Relations:
Accountable and Reports to: AVP, Fulfillment Center; Fulfillment Center Pharmacy Manager
Positions that Report to you: Technicians; Pharmacy Support Personnel

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required. Certification as a licensed technician through a certified national program. Must maintain continuing education requirements to keep license active. Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy clerk is preferred.

Working Conditions:
This position frequently involves a fast work pace in an office and warehouse type setting. Must be able to handle multiple jobs/situations every day. Daily exposure to noise. Possible exposure to drug substances considered to be hazardous.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
- Works with co-workers as a team to ensure strict adherence to credited standard operating procedures and facility policies.
- Checks and removes expired and recalled product.
- Monitors and corrects inventory throughout facility.
- Continually evaluates formularies to stock preferred Topco and direct buy items.
- Conducts month-end inventory verification.
- Handles inquiries that do not require a pharmacist's expertise and judgement.
- Assists in training employees.
- Assists in adherence to quality assurance standards.
- Gains complete understanding of Hy-Vee's retail pharmacy operations and offers avenues to better serve them.
- Reports any medication errors to appropriate personnel.
- Orders, processes and stocks pharmacy supplies.
- Logs invoices as needed.
- Maintains cleanliness of pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress code.
- Maintains appropriate drug stock levels based on rejections and inventory turns.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in developing standard operating procedures.
- Prepares and affixes labels to prescription containers.
- Prepares prescriptions to be mailed or delivered.
- Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.
- Assists in other areas as needed.
Education and Experience:

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to physically exert up to 50-pounds of force occasionally and lift up to 25-pounds of force on a regular basis.
- Must be able to stand/walk for the majority of the 8-hour shift.
- Visual requirements include vision from less than 20-inches to more than 20-feet with or without correction, depth perception, and color vision, and field of vision.
- Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Stooping, bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, using small stepladder, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
