Job Description
POA Intra-operative: Under general supervision and following established policies and procedures, provides service support for assigned Operating Room (O.R.) area(s) related to services, patient transport, preparation and cleaning of the operating room, cleaning, disinfecting and sterilization of equipment, and patient preparation. Assists O.R. personnel in the positioning and maintenance of patient safety. POA Pre/post-operative: Under general supervision of the registered nurse, will assist the health care team with specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs of the patient. Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures. Provides service support for assigned area(s) related to building services, patient transport and patient preparation. Recognizes and participates in own continuing education. Reports to the Supervisor/Manager/Director. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in surgical services, sterile processing, patient care environment or related departments with similar skill set required. Medical Assistant and/or Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
LICENSURES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Current BLS-A Certification required or become BLS-A certified within one month of job start date.
