GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Performs highly complex (senior-level) computer systems analysis work. Work involves analyzing CPA business, systems and environment to determine appropriate testing strategies. This will include estimating, planning, analysis of user requirements, system design, testing and defect identification. Work also includes creating and executing appropriate automated tests to ensure the quality of software development. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

WORK HOURS:
Work hours are 8:00AM to 5:00PM, 40-hour week, Monday – Friday. Occasionally work overtime and/or additional hours. Hours may change based on business need. Application support activities periodically require on-call responsibilities or work during non-standard hours.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and execute performance tests
  • Develops and automates test scripts
  • Create Test plans and test scenarios
  • Create test strategies, schedules and assignments
  • Create and execute automated application tests
  • Executes appropriate test scenarios to verify that Java, .Net, Mainframe, and other programming changes successfully satisfy the business requirements, design documents, and performance constraints.
  • Coordinates testing activities with various teams
  • Reviews and analyzes business requirements, legislation, project proposals, statements of work, contracts, policies, procedures and other requests to plan and document the appropriate tests for required and proposed changes to integrated system applications, databases, and environments.
  • Determines and documents the appropriate tests for incorporating products into an environment and interfacing to existing applications.
  • Conducts and participates in design reviews to gain an understanding of the system design, creation of test strategies, plans, schedules and assignments.
  • Identifies and coordinates changes to processes and procedures, such as, activities related to testing batch schedules, load testing, acceptance testing, regression testing, database refreshes, code migrations, test reviews, etc.
  • Executes appropriate test scenarios to verify that Java, .Net, Mainframe, and other programming changes successfully satisfy the business requirements, design documents, and/or requests.
  • Works closely with Business to determine resources needed to successfully test the project and notifies management of those needs and date dependencies
  • Reviews test results for accuracy of meeting business needs and performances targets
  • Identifies defects, database contention, network congestion, and security, and system issues
  • Determines the cause of test failures by gathering information related to the problem; identifies appropriate resolution options; obtains appropriate approval; and coordinates the execution of the selected option.

Communicates result findings to all staff.

Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Graduation from accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Management Information Systems.

EXPERIENCE:
Four (4) years of test planning, test scenario creation and cataloging, test documentation, and executing tests.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience coding and testing programs in a mainframe or a distributed environment.
  • Two (2) years of Load Runner
  • Two (2) years of Test complete

SUBSTITUTIONS:
One (1) additional year of the full-time minimum experience as stated above may substitute for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education with a maximum of 120 semester hours (four years).

Pay: $66,000.00 - $68,640.00 per year
