Job Description
Position Summary: Licensed Optometrist, OD. Part-time from 7-14 hours per week: The NYU Student Health Center (SHC) Specialty Unit is seeking a part-time Optometrist to provide eye care services 7-14 hours/wk for our population of more than 50,000 NYU undergraduates and graduate students. Working on-site in a dedicated Optometry suite, the Optometrist will perform routine eye care, diagnosis of eye diseases, treatment of diseases consistent with NYS law, including:
OD degree
Licensed as an optometrist in New York State
Certification in the use of Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents (TPAs)
BLS certification.
Required Experience:
Minimum 2 years clinical experience as an Optometrist, eligibility to obtain medical liability insurance. Approval for clinical privileges by the Credentials Committee.
Preferred Experience:
Experience working in a multi-specialty and/or Student Health practice setting.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
