SUMMARY:
Responsible for administering all systems, processes and functions related to payroll. Perform all tasks necessary to accomplish payroll processing objectives, including facilitating relationships with external vendors, auditors, and state and federal agencies. Drive continuous improvement processes within assigned areas of responsibility. Responsible for administering all functional related activities within the scope of the payroll system.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform and actively manage all activities necessary to process multi-state and multi-schedule payroll in accordance with pay schedules including: maintaining and updating related-employee records, filing tax reports and voluntary deduction reports, processing involuntary deductions such as garnishments, preparing accounting transactions and documents, documenting and updating procedures.
- Ensures highest level of payroll processing and administrative accuracy, data security and integrity across all platforms.
- Ensures JSOX compliance by adhering to, evaluating, recommending and establishing internal controls requirements, maintain documentation for payroll processes and providing recommendations as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements.
- Support initiatives to improve the efficiency of payroll administration, coordinating interfacing and reporting of data to and from third party vendors. Responsible for payroll system configuration, design, and maintenance.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BA/BS degree.
- 5+ years of relevant payroll.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR/SPHR, SHRM)
- Experience with UKG payroll system
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The majority of this work takes place in an office and the work environment is that of a typical office environment in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are usually moderate. Frequently the employee will interact with personnel in the plant and may be exposed to higher noise levels.
