Sport Clips Haircuts is looking to add a Payroll and Accounting Specialist to our team. This new role will have direct accountability for the accuracy and timeliness of processing biweekly payroll for the Support Team of Sport Clips and Company Stores along with management of reporting, including but not limited to the reconciliation of information flow to the Company’s retirement plan. It will be expected that the Payroll Specialist will provide support as part of the Company’s 2021 initiative to increase the level of automation in the payroll processes.
Additionally, the Payroll and Accounting Specialist will maintain the administration of the ProfitKeeper Platform which includes updating compliance reporting in collaboration with the Franchise department and also providing guidance to assist Team Leaders with utilizing the system. This requires the specialist to have complete understanding of the main KPI’s impacting the Sport Clips system, recommended chart of accounts and preferred coding of standard journal entries. Educating our Team Leaders with a strong understanding of best accounting practices while building more consistency in the information flow to the benchmark reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility will be to administer the bi-weekly payroll consisting of company store Stylists and managers as well as the Support Team for Sport Clips and its subsidiaries (currently three). Perform adhoc requests for data from the payroll platform.
- Coordinate with Accounting department Team Members payroll related tasks ensuring payroll process is accurate and complete for the Controller to review and approve.
- Act as liaison to the Human Resource dept in coordinating changes and other matters relevant to the processing of payroll.
- Voucher and provide documentation to Controller for funding the 401k withholdings.
- Post Payroll processing, administer and reconcile contributions, loans and other required tasks to ensure the payroll and 401k plans tie out.
- Perform accounting duties administrating the ProfitKeeper platform, (Changes in TLs, Stores new, closed, transferred, user set ups and other tasks).
- Assist TLs with questions related to mapping and accounting for uploading their financials, financial reporting compliance, PK invoice review and adjustment of charges, and other accounting duties.
- Administer ProfitKeeper validation exceptions from TL financial uploads by clearing or contacting the TL to make corrective adjustments to allow their store financials to be uploaded.
- Review and help support KPI integration issues with ProfitKeeper. Upload Co Store Financials to ProfitKeeper.
- Assist TLs with general questions related to SCI standard chart of accounts, salon ultimate upload to QuickBooks and coordinate with the QB SCI Corp Account representative.
- Perform adhoc requests on ProfitKeeper from the Controller and DFPA.
- Support TMs with use of ProfitKeeper.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or related experience
- Experience with ADP/Workforce Now platform and/or implementation/transfer of new payroll providers
- Experience with multi-State entity payroll processing
- Utilization of QuickBooks as platform for Accounting Software
- Proven understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
