Job Description

Guidewell Emergency Doctor Clinics are free-standing outpatient facilities, providing easy access unscheduled care. The candidate selected to assume the role of a Patient Service Specialist will be part of a fast growing, highly innovative healthcare organization. Responsibilities

A Lead Patient Service Specialist will play a very key role in the success of the facility and the patient’s overall experience. Strict adherence to organizational Protocols and Values is a must. The position is responsible for:

  • Entering new patients into the patient database
  • Verifying insurance
  • Getting authorization from insurance companies
  • Putting together patient charts
  • Scheduling patient appointments
  • Collecting copays and contracted rates from patients
  • Coordinating admissions
  • Auditing charts for completeness and obtaining any missing information from the clinical team

This is a Lead role that will provide work direction to the front desk staff as well as training of new team members.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Active BLS certification
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a medical office, hospital, or clinic in a patient services or similar role
  • Previous lead, supervisory or training experience strongly preferred
  • Must successfully pass a Level 2 background screen and drug test
  • Able to perform the duties expected for an active role in a busy office environment (standing, walking, teaching, public speaking, pulling, pushing, lifting, etc.)
  • Ability to use all necessary office equipment (faxes, copiers, computers, telephones, etc.)
  • Able to stand and work up to 12-hours in a day
  • Legibly write English, clearly speak English and proficiently read English
