Responsibilities*
Answer phone calls and emails and provide face-to-face services to customers throughout off-shifts.
Download outside studies to be read/used by radiologists on need be basis.
Manage Radiant read lists pertaining to 1800 studies.
Manage ‘Results Tracker’ list and ‘All Read’ list throughout the day as per daily demand.
Manage abdominal protocol list in Radiant.
Processes requests to send medical records from paper authorizations and releases occasionally.
Assign/reassign studies to other divisions as required, including 3D lab.
Prepare paperwork/studies for conferences for different physicians as required.
Communicate with PACS and User Support to correct report and study errors.
Page/communicate with providers as requested by radiologists.
Manage 1800 protocol list in Radiant.
Monitor ED/Inpatient workqueue, download outside studies ensuring appropriate turn-around time and/or communication with ED (20 minutes).
Monitor outpatient workqueue, download outside studies ensuring appropriate turn-around time according to status (when time permits)
Create CDs on demand for ED/Inpatients.
Monitor Fax machine for vital communication.
Assist radiologists and technologists with requests, including research.
Report equipment issues to appropriate department.
Light cleaning/stocking of Customer Service Center.
Route 1800 residents to respond to emergent patient status. (contrast reactions) (extravasation) (Trauma QC)
Update VA call schedule, page VA Techs with on demand requests for studies.
Monitor 1700 radiologist phone when in procedures.
Complies with all University of Michigan and departmental standards and expectations. Supports the department’s commitment to continuous improvement activities and principles through positive and respectful contribution in all problem-solving and change processes.
Participates in department committees and work teams as assigned. Assumes responsibility for personal growth and development and maintains and upgrades professional knowledge and practice skills through attendance and participation in continuing education and in-service classes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent attendance
2-3 years of experience
Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team setting
Ability to communicate effectively
Demonstrated active listening, written, verbal, and information technology skills
Desired Qualifications*
Experience with MiChart/Epic
Knowledge of health system policies and procedures.
Knowledge of basic medical terminology
Experience working within a large, complex healthcare system
