Job Description
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Coordinates patient care by managing phone calls using proper phone etiquette.
- Provide friendly and excellent customer service.
- Answers inquiries by phone and in person in a helpful, accurate and efficient manner.
- Schedule appointments.
- Maintains appointment schedule and manages recalls for providers and testing.
- Maintains electronic medical record, including the patient chart. Performs tasks (including linking, uploading, and referrals) in support of patient care.
- Ensures patient confidentiality by honoring the HIPAA Privacy Standards and OSHA.
- Assists providers when requested.
- Schedule and precert outside diagnostic test.
- Keep fax work queues up to date.
- Assist with checking in patients, collecting copay's and past due monies.
- Performs all special tasks and duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
General Skills and Abilities:
- EMR skills/Eclinicals a plus
- Must know how to type
- Works well in a team environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency on a computer
- Speed and accuracy
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Must understand the importance of HIPAA and OSHA standards
