The Patient Service Representative (PSR) at MMG/University Avenue Family Practice performs a variety of clerical functions, including but not limited to, scheduling, patients for appointments using the correct visit type (arrives, no shows, cancels, and reschedule of appointments) as necessary.
As the PSR you will register and maintain patient demographic information, obtain and verify patient insurance information at every visit, collect and record patient payments and work as a liaison, between the patient, physician and ancillary staff.
The ideal candidate will help coordinate specialist and diagnostic services, provide referral information and is expected to handle a high volume of telephone calls, as well as, their individualized In box (electronic mail box within Epic) and assigned CRM pool, in a timely manner. The candidate should have a fair knowledge of the insurances accepted within the organization, how to register these insurances into the electronic medical record and protocols to apply to each visit.
The PSR will be expected to work with a multidisciplinary team, to coordinate and facilitate the daily operations of the practice, as well as have excellent customer services skills in order to optimize the patient experience.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
- Spanish Speaking Required
- Six (6) months to one (1) year of clerical or healthcare experience
- Operate basic office electronics such as: computer, fax and scanner. Knowledge of MS Office and Epic a plus.
- Ability to work Saturdays (based on future operational needs)
