Our St. Francis hospital is seeking a Patient Care Attendant. We are looking for your experience, knowledge and patient care skills in our Nursing Services Department where you will be responsible for:

  • Observes and communicates the patient's needs to the Registered Nurse responsible for the patient's care


  • Intervenes to protect the patient and to minimize the risk of injury by reorienting the patient, talking to the patient or calling for assistance.


  • Stays near or close to the patient's bedside as directed by the Registered Nurse.


  • Provides quality customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.


  • Efficiently responds to requests and needs with customer focus.


  • Clearly and respectfully communicates relevant information to all customers.


  • Assists all patients, family members, physicians, visitors, and employees in a friendly manner.


  • Running errands as needed for the unit


  • Other duties as assigned

Experience

Prior work experience in a comparable setting preferred

Enrolled in Nursing Assistant or Practical Nursing Program preferred

Education/Certification

High School/GED

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact with patients, families and coworkers and to demonstrate empathy and sensitivity necessary to elicit patient's cooperation and to allay apprehensions
