Job Description

Columbia Allergy is looking for a strong candidate to fill a Patient Care Coordinator position at our Oakland office.

Ideal candidates will have 1-2 years of medical front desk. The perfect candidate would be dependable, team player, comfortable working with patients of all ages, motivated, possess integrity and strong interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Greeting patients and visitors in the clinic and over the phone
  • Check patients in and out of their appointments
  • Scheduling new and established patients
  • Coordinating referrals from other doctors Checking patients insurance benefits and obtaining insurance authorizations and referrals
  • Maintain patient accounts by updating personal and insurance information
  • Collecting co-pays and account balances
  • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal, health and financial information Use of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience working the front desk at a medical clinic preferred
  • Work experience as Medical Assistant is preferred but not required
  • Experience working with Asthma and Allergy preferred but not required
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge working with Google Docs, PDF programs & EHR
  • Reliable transportation
  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
