Established Ophthalmology clinic is looking for an experienced Patient care Coordinator to join our team of highly qualified physicians and outstanding support staff. We can train a candidate without medical experience, but the candidate needs excellent customer service and teamwork skills. Candidate must be comfortable in a busy, fast-paced environment. We offer outstanding care to our patients and are looking for the right person that can exemplify our mission of providing the highest standard in health care in a warm, compassionate environment.

This position focuses on taking care of patients and helping them with scheduling and understanding insurance and payments. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with people and group problem-solving and believes in continuous quality improvement.

Essential job functions and requirements:

· Warmly and professionally check-in and check-out patients

· Answer phones and triage patients for eye emergencies

· Schedule patients according to clinic and physician protocols

· Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information

· Assist with clerical duties such as scanning, faxing and other projects as directed

· Strong computer skills including experience with an electronic health record

· Have the ability to work independently and with a team

· Have the ability to problem solve and ask questions of other staff members

· Ability to manage a high volume of work – calls, patient care and administrative work

· Be organized and able to learn new concepts quickly

· Have strong communication skills with patients and co-workers

· Ability to maintain HIPAA confidentiality standards

· Willingness to accept feedback and desire to learn and grow.

· Provide excellent customer service by showing compassion and care to everyone!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
