Job Description

Portland Community College is seeking a Manager of Guided Pathways to provide college-wide comprehensive advising and career programming in a guided pathways model (4 available positions). This is a new position as a result of reorganization and you will have the ability to create and impact change within our organization with the development of staff in a student centered model. The successful candidate will be able to build an environment that inspires and communicates a sense of belonging and care to a diverse group of staff and students during their educational journey at the college. There will be opportunities to mentor teams, creating greater access and resources to students, and cross-departmental collaboration. This role will advance our efforts toward achieving equitable student success by bringing our students who sit on the margins to center. These positions are four of the openings at Portland Community College that will pilot a student affairs cohort model that seeks to further diversify the college’s student affairs team and advance our efforts towards achieving equitable student success. This cohort will join an educational community that values cultural competency and inclusive teaching and learning practices. Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Science, or related area *(see below)
  • Three (3) years progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment
  • Including two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience (Successful completion of PCC LEAD Academy or a comparable external leadership training program may substitute for up to 6 months of lead or supervisory experience.)

OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field
  • Five (5) years progress years progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment
  • Including two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience (Successful completion of PCC LEAD Academy or a comparable external leadership training program may substitute for up to 6 months of lead or supervisory experience.)

OR

  • Seven (7) years progress years progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment
  • Including two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience (Successful completion of PCC LEAD Academy or a comparable external leadership training program may substitute for up to 6 months of lead or supervisory experience.)

Position Grade J

Starting Salary Expectations Minimum $64,361 to range midpoint of $78,840. Placement will generally not exceed the mid-point, based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work environment includes frequent disruptions and changes in priorities. Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. Working hours may vary and occasional evening or weekend work is required. Frequent travel to other locations is required. No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job satisfactorily.
