About Cocoa & Butter:

Cocoa & Butter is a woman-led, family-owned and operated European-style bakery and patisserie cafe, opening early Spring 2022 in downtown Palo Alto, minutes from Stanford University. We believe that vibrant neighborhoods are not built on ghost kitchens, but rather spaces where people can gather around and savor food. As we emerge from the pandemic, we will be offering an ambiance focused on celebrating the art of food, and are looking for team members who share this vision.

Responsibilities

  • Passionate about executing and maintaining pastry recipes
  • Mix, bake, build, and decorate various pastry products in an efficient manner
  • Operate and maintain bakery equipment including ovens, dough roller, sheeter and mixers
  • Maintain clean, food-safe bakery prep station throughout shift
  • Perform dishwasher duties as needed
  • Excited about achieving personal and professional growth
  • Report to the Assistant Bakery Manager

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Pastry Cook: 1 year

Education:

  • GED or higher
  • Culinary Arts degree preferred
  • ServSafe Food Safety Handler Card

Pastry Skills: One or more of:

  • Cakes
  • Chocolates
  • Pastry

Physical:

  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to 5 hours in length.
  • Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 25 pounds.

Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($22.00 - $24.00) plus tips
