Pastor/Director Of Children S Ministries

The Pastor of Children's Ministries is responsible for the discipling of children (infant- 5th grade) and their families. We are looking for a leader to engage children with relational classrooms, age-appropriate content, and irresistible environments. The Pastor of Children’s Ministries would create events that point children and parents to Jesus, build intimacy with God, develop community with others already engaged, and reach out to those who are not yet in a relationship with Christ.

Primary Responsibilities and Tasks of the Position

• Cast vision for children’s ministry with an emphasis on loving with abandon that will allow kids to experience God, not just learn about Him, in a relevant and relational way.
• Partner with parents to equip them to become the primary spiritual developer of their children including classes, resources, and training
• Recruit, train, and develop others. Equip and enable adults and youth to share in the responsibilities and joys of children’s ministry.
• Provide spiritual care and guidance for children, parents, and volunteers
• Serve as a member of Pastoral Staff and as the ambassador for children’s ministry with Elders, Staff, parents, and kids
• Design, plan, and execute a calendar of events that moves kids and families towards our mission
• Develop budgets and provide financial oversight and responsibility
• Curate engaging content and take-home activities with strategic progression in age-appropriate levels of layered spiritual growth.
• Develop an active outreach ministry to preschoolers, elementary children and their families that includes, but is not limited to midweek or summer outreach activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ as evidenced by spiritual maturity and a close consistent walk with Him
• Innovator of great ideas who isn’t afraid to try new things for the sake of engaging families/children better
• Accomplished leader with a passion for child/family ministry and a track record of effectively developing ministry volunteers.
• Strategic thinker, Problem-solver with communication skills, and follow-through.
• Loves kids!
• Demonstrate strong conflict management and public relation skills.
• Demonstrate flexibility and calm under pressure in changing and/or emergent situations.
• High-energy, creative individual with a strong work-ethic and a desire to be a part of a ministry team that seeks to partner with families to reach the next generation for Jesus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: University graduate or equivalent work experience.

• 3-5 years experience working with children in a church setting or related field.
• Experience at a church of 400+ is highly recommended
• Conversational Spanish is highly desired.
