The Ethnic Studies Department in the College of Liberal Arts at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers. Positions are available as determined by need and funding during the Fall, Winter, and/or Spring quarters of the 2020-2021 academic year, which begins September 10, 2020. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications, experience and time base. Responsibilities include teaching courses in Ethnic Studies and comparative cultures, particularly the lower division offerings that focus on the intersections of race, gender, and class in U.S. Indigenous, African, Latino/a, and Asian communities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. or Ed.D. degree in social science or humanities is the expected academic preparation, with an emphasis in Ethnic Studies or Cultural Studies preferred. However, candidates possessing the Master's degree who have college level teaching experience in ethnic studies will be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

College level teaching experience preferred.

The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
