Part Time Janitorial/Building Maintenance Position

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

This position is a part time Janitorial and light maintenance position in a very active retail environment.
Thorough cleaning of bathrooms, offices, retail floor to include using floor scrubber and waxing equipment.
This includes trash removal and other cleaning duties. Maintenance may involve small repairs and changing air filters as scheduled. While performing these duties, you are still expected to provide great Ace customer service.

Customer Service:

• Provide a positive representation of Islands Ace Hardware.
• Greet customers when you encounter them.
• Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
• Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.
• Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to a member of management.
• Assist customers until a sales associate becomes available if needed.

Store Operations

• Assist in creating a positive, professional and safe work environment.
• Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor merchandise area.
• Communicate any Store issue to store manager follow up.
• Participate in store meetings.
• Be professional in appearance and actions.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Valid State ID

Education/Training
High School or GED equivalent.

Ability to maneuver floor cleaning equipment, climb ladders, lift 50 lbs, stoop, walk and stand for 8 hours per day.
Ability to follow directions and have a commitment to work scheduled hours.
