Part-time Delivery Driver/Warehouse

Non – Exempt (Hourly)

This is a part-time position, 2-3 days a week (no weekends), 16-20 hours per week with the possibility of additional scheduling depending on needs.

Chambers & Chambers Wine Merchants has been importing and distributing fine wine throughout Hawaii and California for over 40 years. We have an immediate need for an individual to fulfill the role of part-time Delivery Driver/Warehouse Attendant/Merchandiser.

Summary of responsibilities:
This position has delivery duties on the island of Oahu, with restaurants and retailers on one of our established delivery routes. The Delivery Driver is responsible for general warehouse duties, making timely deliveries in an efficient and effective manner, checking all product against the invoice for accuracy prior to delivery, ensuring proper signatures are obtained and noting any delivery discrepancies (refusals or warehouse errors), and stocking merchandise at retail establishments. Providing a high level of Customer Service is required for our Chambers & Chambers team members.

Major Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• Verify and sign for daily delivery load
• Route deliveries according to territory and delivery time restrictions
• Complete deliveries with positive attitude and customer service approach
• Stock merchandise on displays, shelves, and end-caps at retail establishments
• Organize and submit signed daily delivery receipts while notifying Warehouse Manager of any refusals or discrepancies immediately
• Pull and stage orders generated from pick slips throughout the day
• Verify pulled orders against final invoice/delivery receipt
• Pull sample orders for sales representatives
• Palletize inbound freight as necessary and restock floor “pulling stock”
• Assist with receipt, verification and handling of inbound freight
• Receive, inspect and process returned goods shipments and forward returned goods paperwork
• Other duties as necessary

Requirements for this position:

• Requires ability to load 75-100 cases of wine weighing approximately 35 - 50 lbs each into delivery van. Proper lifting techniques require, frequent bending of the knees and lifting with the legs
• Delivery requirements include making up to 25 daily delivery stops and unloading 75-100 cases of wines (up to 50 lbs/each) from delivery vehicle requiring bending of knees and legs to properly lower cargo onto dolly for transportation and delivery into customer facility
• Frequent use of step-up bumper to access cargo area requires frequent bending of knees and legs
• Accuracy, attention to detail and organization (checking orders against delivery invoice, noting and errors/refusals and proper delivery routing)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others
• Prior delivery experience
• Clean driving record mandatory (DMV report required prior to hire)
• Start work as early as 7AM
• Flexibility to work additional hours to cover vacation or increased business demands
