Job Description
Area oversight of preparation and finish painting of hydraulic pumps and motors to exact specifications.
Essential Duties:
o Able to identify the following conditions:
Order specifications, washing, loading and masking requirements
Preparation necessary prior to painting conventional, electrostatic and cup gun
Coating and color requirements
Setup necessary for painting conventional, electrostatic and cup gun
o Demonstrate understanding of the following prep-for-paint and finishing techniques:
Surface preparation for paint
Blueprint/drawing reading for masking requirements
Unmasking, loading/unloading of units prior/post paint
SKILL FACTORS:
o Knowledge and use of proper personal protective equipment
o Reads and understands SDS sheets as well as application data sheets on all paint supplies
o Reads and understands technical materials used in the painting field.
o Maintains level of work performance in accordance with production deadline specifications
o Maintains, repairs, assembles and tests any equipment associated with painting; performs preventative maintenance and repairs to tools used in the painting field.
o Diagnose problems with any portion of a painted product and repair as needed.
o Ensure high quality products with visual quality check
o Complete appropriate paperwork/log books
o Well developed people skills
o Excellent Communication skills, verbal and written
o Operate phosphate wash cleaning system for pumps and motors when called upon
o Conducts color checking and oversees paint thickness checks
o Maintains spray booth and keeps surrounding areas clean; disposing/reusing of paint
o Perform daily machinery preventive maintenance
o Ensure proper levels of paint and paint supplies are on hand also maintain accurate records required by EHS Manager.
o Ensure all OSHA guidelines are followed with regards to heavy lifting and rigging, and proper use storage, and disposal of all paints and fluids. Maintain work area in safe & orderly manner.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. 1+ years of supervisory experience in an industrial or automotive environment preferred. DCUS internal applicants required.

WORK CONDITIONS:
o Industrial worksite environment
o Ability to work in a noisy environment that is open to the elements and with exposure to the inhalation of fumes and solvents
o Proper personal protective equipment is required at all times such as safety shoes, ear plugs/ear muffs, safety glasses, and respirator use
o Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
o Standing, walking, climbing, balancing, gripping, grasping, carrying and pushing/pulling required greater than 90% of the time
o Kneeling, crouching, squatting and twisting required intermittently on a daily basis
