San Francisco-based multi-disciplinary conservation studio is looking to find applicants for a 3-9 month Graduate Level Internship in Conservation and Collections Care. This collaborative and supportive team is focused on conservation, collections care, cultural heritage preservation, and disaster recovery. This position offers an opportunity for candidates to join a large-scale practice that is looking to grow and inspire the next generation of collections professionals. Staff are fully vaccinated and maintain strict protocols for their work environments and are required to test no more than 3 days before work commencement/after a break.
Stipend range: $1000-$6000
The program can also be considered in some cases for college credit.
Local and affordable neighborhood rental housing with established hosts in the Outer Richmond area of San Francisco.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 10 am-6 pm (2-4 days a week)
- 6-9 month opportunities for US citizens

- The program runs from August to December 2022
- The start window is flexible between Aug 15th and Sept 15th
Projects and Materials:
- Research and Analysis
- Condition Assessment and Related Processing
- Cleaning Processes for Many Different Materials
- Repair and Stabilization
- Pest Management and Remediation
- Specialized Equipment Experience (FLIR Infrared Thermal Camera, ARMscope Stereo Microscope, and UV Digital Microscope Camera)
- Materials: Painting, Works on Paper, Textiles, Costume, Decorative Arts, and Sculpture

Qualifications/Experience Required:
Applicants must have at least 1-year experience in conservation or collections care.
And must meet 1 or more of the following:
- Must be currently enrolled in a diploma or degree program in conservation of collections care
- Must have completed a program in the last 3 years
- Are being considered “pre-program”
