PACS Administrator

The Foster Hospital for Small Animals is the flagship academic small animal hospital of the Cummings Veterinary Medical Center at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine of Tufts University, with approximately 34,000 patients per year. The hospital provides advanced veterinary care for small animal patients throughout New England and serves as the primary clinical training environment for the veterinary students, interns and residents. The mission of the FHSA is to provide high quality patient and client care through excellence in specialty medicine, to provide exemplary service to referring veterinarians, and to advance companion animal and human health, while providing outstanding veterinary education in a compassionate, caring, and professional environment.

The PACS archive stores and handles an unlimited amount of data and supplies a means of accessing images using DICOM standard protocols. The server will communicate with scanners, workstations, and hardcopy units. Images transferred using DICOM protocols based on TCP/IP transport layers.

The PACS administrator deals with complex hardware and software that serves a medical academic community. The administrator in Grafton maintains internal data processing hardware and software with multiple modalities and users. The administrator ensures the stability of the databases (information repository) by performing quality control using testing and debugging software.

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information System Management or practical experience in one or more areas of IT Infrastructure Operations. Oracle,Unix,Windows,Java Script,Digital Dashboard
