Resources for Human Development is OPEN and hiring for a Full-Time Crisis Worker to join our program located in the Stroudsburg area. The Crisis Worker provides direct services to consumers, significant others, and collateral resources and assists consumers with their daily living needs.

Responsibilities/Duties
- Residential Crisis Specific Duties including but not limited to early waking, daily planning, meal preparation, and clean-up, maintaining necessary scheduled appointments that have been approved by the supervisory team members.
- Telephone Crisis Specific Duties including the National Suicide Lifeline, screeningincoming calls, providing appropriate telephone counseling, consultation, assessment, and referral to needed services including Mobile and/or Residential Crisis Intervention services.
- Community Involvement and Team Work including but not limited to providing referral and other case management services for consumers and families at times of contact; either on the phone, in the community, or in the residence prior to discharge.
- Observe all scheduled and as needed (PRN) medication observations and assist as directed by Residential Nurse i.e. blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.
- Conduct psycho-educational, skills training, and supportive crisis counseling in residence or community.
- Consumer Care including spending at least 75% of scheduled time in direct, face to face, or telephone interactions with consumers.
Required Experience
Two years of experience in public or private human services with one year of mental health direct care experience.Required Education
- Bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, anthropology, political science, history, criminal justice, theology, nursing, counseling, education, or a related field.

- High school diploma or equivalency and 12 semester credit hours in sociology, social welfare, psychology; gerontology; or other social science
Required Qualifications
The Crisis Worker shall be a person with an interest in and understanding of individuals with mental illness and experience working with this population. He or she will be a mature individual with sound judgment who represents an appropriate resource for consumers.Program Summary
An eight-bed, short-term residential program for adults in Carbon, Monroe, and Pike counties. The program provides supervised mental health stabilization services as an alternative to psychiatric hospitalization for individuals who are in a psychiatric crisis, or who may need to be removed from a stressful environment while supports are identified to ensure stability. New Perspectives Telephone and Mobile Crisis Intervention Services provides assessment, crisis intervention counseling, crisis stabilization, referral and linkage with other services, and assessment of the need for emergency hospitalization at consumers' homes or at other community locations
