The primary job location wherever the ship is in VA.
This position will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance to CVN Ship's Force personnel on the development and implementation of Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), checklists, instructions and metrics associated with the planning and execution of the Ship's Force Work Package (SFWP) for COMNAVAIRLANT CVN CNO maintenance availabilities.
The candidate will need to interface with COMNAVAIRFOR Type Commander, shipyard points of contact, various program managers, and Ship's Force leadership at the work center, division, and department head level and will report to the Maintenance Planning Manager.
Specific requirements of this position are:
  • Attend a daily meeting with the Maintenance Program Manager to determine focus areas.
  • Attend the Daily Production List (PDL) and identify issues that are delaying scheduled production.
  • Walk assigned work areas to monitor progress and compare it to the scheduled progress.
  • Investigate delays in material transfers to and from the shops and ascertain the cause of the delay.
  • Meet with MSC personnel to determine ILS issues that are delaying/could delay work and elevate to the MPM for resolution.
  • Track the Supply Hot List on a daily basis, identify material delays that will impact the completion of work.
  • Provide feedback to the MPM of results on a daily basis. Provide a written report to the MPM on a weekly basis.

Qualifications: Job Requirements
  • Must have a current Secret Security Clearance
  • Must be knowledgeable of and proficient in the use of the shipboard OMMS-NG system.
  • Must have previous Navy active-duty experience and stationed on-board naval aircraft carriers.
  • Must have served as a Work Center Supervisor
  • Must have qualified at the 3M Work Center Supervisor level (or higher).
  • Must have Navy shipboard experience in the following area: Combat Systems
  • Ten years of experience in the operations, maintenance, repair, and testing of naval shipboard equipment and systems including
  • Six years of experience with aircraft carriers and their associated battle group in planning, production, management, or monitoring or ship’s overhauls.
One must have good written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Ability to follow directions is a must. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team. U.S. Citizenship required.
