Job Description
We’re looking for a motivated, high-energy professional to join our Outside Plant Engineering team!
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop OSP construction drawings, permit documentation, and project manage the completion of the project
- Apply standards and policies for Aerial, Buried, and Underground design
- Perform administrator duties in OSP records systems SpatialNet and Offline insuring as-build information in SpatialNet meets company standards
- Responsible for oversight of project plan including timeframe, project schedule, and budgeting
- Control project plan, approve design, specifications, plans, and schedule changes
- Perform field site meets with contractors, customers, and local agencies
- Plan and implement procedures and systems to coordinate financial and budget activities for maximized operating efficiency
- Contribute to various projects working with minimal supervision, including assisting other departments and team members, as directed in order to meet company and departmental goals
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate:
- A vital interest in contributing to the success of the department’s goals
- Competency and experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Proficient use of AutoCAD required with familiarity of SpatialNet preferred
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

- Excellent organizational skills, time management, initiative, attention to detail, follow through
- Exceptional customer service skills with an ability to explain complex situations in simple terms

- Must possess expert knowledge in Aerial and Underground plant design
- Advanced understanding of underground copper, fiber, and substructure design
- Advanced understanding of telephone industry standards, local telecom practices and procedures, local/city/state/government rules and regulations
OSP Engineer January 2021
- Knowledge of all state/local/RR permitting regulations regarding Right-of-Way, Property Rights, and Easements
Other Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in related Outside Plant Engineering/Construction work
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the Telecommunications industry
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
- Must have a valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record
