- Assesses dental condition and needs of patient using appropriate screening procedures, including medical history review, dental charting, and analysis of x-rays
- Plans treatment and health promotion programs for patients
- Rebuilds broken teeth, replaces missing teeth, and pulls out unnecessary or severely damaged teeth
- Makes models for replacement teeth and takes accurate measurements for new teeth
- Performs surgery on gums or on supporting bones
- Administers anesthetics to patients during procedures
- Writes prescriptions for patients
- Advises patients on dental care and helps make patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
- Updates patient records with information on treatment recommendations and work done
- Graduate of an accredited school of dental medicine, with appropriate specialization certification.
- License to practice in this state
- Highly professional and dependable
- Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality
- Communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, staff, vendors, and others
