Job Description
Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in a classroom environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences.
To assist with the credentialing process, please indicate on your application or resume whether each position held is/was a full-time or part-time position.
Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree in opticianry or related teaching field. Certification from the American Board of Opticianry and National Contact Lens Examiners (ABO-NCLE) is required dependent upon content of assigned courses; and a minimum of 2 years occupational experience is required. Distance learning candidates must provide documentation of completion of appropriate credential for teaching online, as identified by college policy. The selected candidate must be able to successfully pass the college’s pre-employment security screening.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related teaching field is preferred. Classroom and online laboratory teaching experience, and demonstrated teaching and hands-on competencies are preferred. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with multi-cultural populations that support diversity, cultural understanding and inclusion. Demonstrated computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint applications are also preferred.
