Summary:


Assists eye care providers in the care of patients and flow of clinical activities. Ensures proper care and usage of medical instruments.


Job Duties:

  • Under the direct supervision of eye care provider, assists with performing patient care. Demonstrate proficiency in performing ophthalmic core competencies.
  • Performs basic ophthalmic testing procedures, diagnostic testing, administration of medications and tasks delegated by the eye care provider.
  • Assists with minor procedures and prescription refill process under the direction of provider.
  • Performs documentation, patient education and enters charges. Assists with the flow of patient care.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) or National Contact Lens Examiner Certification (NCLEC) if performing as a contact lens Technician
  • BLS
  • 2 years sponsored on the job ophthalmic training, or ophthalmic internship

This position's pay range starts at: $22.540000/hour.


An annual bonus may be paid to eligible employees based upon organizational and individual performance.
