OPERATORS- Hourly Range is $18.75 to $23.65 as part of the pay for skills program!

Johns Manville, a leader in the Commercial/Roofing Systems is seeking motivated individuals to perform as an Operator! This position supports the core team. Many roles in the Jacksonville plant are cross functional and are part of the pay for skills program. This position may also support or work in Shipping job levels as needed to provide flexibility to the plant. Working safely is a core responsibility of the position. Safety, teamwork and worker flexibility are critical requirements for this position.

Your Day-to-Day

• Understand HMIS, SDS labels and applications
• Understand all company product specifications and quality standards
• Trouble shoots and fixes problems in production and reports any problems
• Trained in Lock, Tag, Clear, Try and how to lockout dry end equipment
• Know where and how all emergency stop operations work
• Monitor production during run
• Able to communicate over the radio
• Cutting feet material, sampling product, move materials by hand, operate a forklift, empty trash carts, conduct clean-up activities
• Complete preventative maintenance work tasks, assist with start-ups
• Monitor production line and begin to learn other key positions (i.e. Level 2-4).
• Understand finished product specifications
• Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor

What You Bring to the Team

• At least one year working in a warehouse/production environment.
• Have general math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and percentages).
• Beginner to intermediate computer skills (Microsoft office).
• Solid Communication Skills (written/verbal).
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Understand Root Cause Corrective Action Process.
• Exceptional team player.
• Able to drive a forklift.
