Job Description
The Role
Cost Control - Project Manager, Commercial Energy, The Field Support team is responsible for enabling the Field Service team to make efficient and timely repairs to Tesla’s Energy infrastructure in North America. The field support team works cross-functionally as the execution arm of the Global Energy Service Strategy and Operations team. The primary role of the Project Manager – Field Support will be to negotiate subcontractor terms, track purchase orders, and manage invoice approvals for multiple O&M projects across Tesla Energy’s major product offerings (Supercharger, Industrial Storage, Commercial PV). To support this, you will collaborate cross functionally with Field Support Managers, subcontractors, finance, and Global Supply Management.
Responsibilities
  • Communicate cost controls and cost savings to stakeholders to obtain approvals.
  • As project manager, document negotiation process, purchase order funds availability, subcontractor deliverables, and proper invoice approvals.
  • Independently handle multiple proposal negotiations at a time while meeting financial benchmarks.
  • Identify further cost controls and areas of improvement for the purchase order process
  • Apply out of the box thinking, problem-solving abilities and infrastructure maintenance experience to solve cost control issues
  • Manage standard purchase order process across multiple teams.

Requirements
  • 3+ years project management experience in Infrastructure Maintenance or related field
  • Basic knowledge of commercial electrical systems
  • Excellent organizational skills with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness
  • Proponent for continuous improvements (Process, cost, technology)
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Ability to perform basic database reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously with complex and demanding deadlines.
  • Exceptional communications, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working across and successfully influencing multiple internal stakeholders (supply chain, finance, engineering, legal, etc.)
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal screen. Additional pre-employment driving, and drug screens may be required based on job responsibilities
