Chemours is seeking an Operations Manager to join our growing Power and Services team! This position will report directly to the Plant Manager at our Parkersburg, West Virginia location.

The role is the key link to translate strategies into tactics. The successful candidate will work closely with the Plant Manager to continually improve performance of environmental processes, cost performance of the unit, and reliability of processes.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Expected outcomes:

  • Improvement of environmental performance and compliance

  • Improvement of equipment and process reliability

  • Improvement in cost performance

Responsibilities:

  • Provide input to the 3-5 year site strategic plan which supports the business and corporate strategy.

  • Develop and establish Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for the Area.

  • Communication and execution of business objectives, priorities and progress across the Area.

  • Develops and executes the Area’s supply strategy through the efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.

  • Provides strategic leadership & direction for the area implementing initiatives toward world-class competitive position.

  • Review work throughout area to ensure priorities and target dates are met.

  • Facilitate Visual Performance Management activities with area team including any problem solving.

  • Maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads within area.

  • Provides leadership for improvement programs and asset productivity best practices across the area with the use of continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Set expectations and hold people accountable for Core Value compliance and model the appropriate behavior.

  • Leads identification and prioritization of risk reduction opportunities, establishes clear priorities and supports effective resourcing to drive improvement in the Area.

  • Manages processes and implementing best practices to achieve excellence in Quality and Customer Service.

  • Develop and execute plans to meet the annual P&CO commitments for the Area.

  • Reviews financial reports & statements to determine progress & status in attaining Unit’s costs (fixed & plant related variable) and capital objectives, making adjustments, corrections & plans in accordance with current conditions and business requirements.

The following is required for this role:

  • Associate's Degree

  • At least 5 years of direct leadership experience in manufacturing facilities.

  • Proven track record of leading change within manufacturing facilities.

  • Experience setting strategies and leading teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The following is preferred for this role:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or other technical field

  • Experience in project leadership/ management.

  • Five years of High Hazard Process manufacturing experience.

  • Lean, Six Sigma, or other Continuous Improvement certification.

  • Previous experiences with Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance systems and processes
