The Division of Adult Probation & Parole (AP&P) is looking for an Office Specialist II to serve as clerical support.
The administrative office for Region III (Salt Lake, Summit, and Tooele counties) is located in Salt Lake City. The administrative office provides administrative support functions for all employees within Region III, which include administrators, agents, officers, and clerical staff that support the day to day operations for the Region.
Job Description
As the Office Specialist II, you will provide clerical support to management and staff. You will also perform basic accounting functions, basic bookkeeping, purchasing, accounts payable and ensuring an adequate supply of materials and/or supplies by ordering, receiving, and inspecting delivered merchandise. Data entry will be extensive and accuracy is essential. The employee will perform a variety of complex, independent decision-making skills with minimum direct supervision. Must be able to lift 20 lbs and perform other duties as assigned.

- Provides authorized agencies with information.
- Originates correspondence.
- Scheduling and coordinating appointments.
The Ideal CandidateThe best-qualified individual for the Office Specialist II position is someone who:
- Has at least one year of experience working in a professional office environment.
- Has data entry experience.
- Is detailed oriented.
- Works independently with little or no supervision.
- Must obtain and maintain a BCI (Background Criminal Investigation).
- Has Google experience with documents and spreadsheets.
- Has purchasing experience.
PreferencePreference may be given to those who:
- Has working experience in a law enforcement agency.
- Has experience working with FINet software program.

- The hourly rate for this position is $13.86 (non-negotiable).
- Current UDC employee's hourly rate will be based on the promotional policy.
- Hiring officials may identify additional related skills and requirements as preferences in making hiring and promotional decision. Only the most qualified applicants will be asked to attend an oral interview.

- Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there will be a lot of walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; facilitating the movement of heavy items, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
- Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
